A group of persons has combined into north of germany in the county Stade a so-called family council which has made it to themselves for the task to investigate the sex of the Dammanns. The farmer Claus Dammann has the basis to this from Ottensen, now one area of the city of Buxtehude, put. He had made a genealogical table in which were recorded approx. 2300 Dammanns by birth in which he went from this that everyone had a progenitor, Michael Dammann in Hedendorf.

The family council has continued the genealogy of the families Dammann and has arrived at the stately number of more than 7000 persons in the meantime.

This one has proved at the search in front of and descendants, that all Dammanns aren't descended from a progenitor at all and this it has well given progenitors also in other regions with the name Dammann. About in the Lüneburg heath and in the Osnabrücker room -- in Harsewinkel and also in Schleswig Holstein.

There is still innumerable Dammanns these aren't included yet and this one let follow perhaps the already available family trees.

The family association Dammann founded in 1935 had engaged Heraldiker for one to make a family arms in 1936. The coat of arms shows the origin and the stand of the Dammann extended family with the Niedersachsenhaus, the way in front of this, the dam, and the helmet with the ears.

History:

Approximately at 1910 then Claus Dammann was stimulated by a lecture to the family research from Ottensen, circle Stade, and was, when ransacking the appropriate documents of this a role affects virus of the genealogy and arose so with approx. 2300 names and data of persons with the name Dammann from the southern circle Stade.
